Dayna Stropkay is graduating in May 2023 with my master’s degree in liberal arts with a concentration in Sociology. She spoke of my desire as well as sadness that my dream of working with children as a teacher might not be realized because of my physical limitations. However, as her capstone spoke of, she is more than a single story and she presently completed her second semester in the School of Education in special education. Who knows how her story will end but she is determined to fill it with wonderful achievements and a true sense of purpose.

Shabina Asghar is an M.A. in Sociology graduate of St. John's University. She graduated in May 2023 and is majoring in Sociology. She has pursued her education further as a Ph.D. student at the University of Maryland in the Fall of 2023.

Elohor Adeleke is a Nigerian international Student in her last semester as an M.A. student in the Sociology program at St. John's University. She is the GA in charge of the E-Zine #4. She graduates in May 2024 and plans to further her education in Business/Data Analytics.

Blanca Moreno is a third-year undergraduate student on the Pre-med track while pursuing a major in Sociology. She plans to attend medical school and eventually work in health policy and observe disparities that exist within healthcare on a global level.

Liam Naughton is in his 5th year at St. John’s University and is pursuing a master’s degree in Sociology. His focus of study is contentious politics and labor history. Upon graduating in May he plans to take a short break and begin applying to Ph.D. programs. He would like to plug the Radical Love Free store, a student-run mutual aid group that fights food insecurity and poor resource allocation on campus.

Morgan Lee is a senior graduating in May 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology. She has minors in both History and Philosophy and plans to pursue her master’s degree in cultural studies.

Angelina DeCoro, a member of the Class of 2024 pursuing a Master of Arts in Criminology and Justice, is dedicated to unraveling the complexities of societal structures. Her research zeroes in on terrorism and the intricate interplay of pressures within class structures. Currently interning at the Queens County Criminal Court under Supreme Court Judge Michael Yavinsky, Angelina is gaining practical insights to complement her academic endeavors in the pursuit of a deeper understanding of criminology and justice.

Sarah Quispe holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She is graduating this May with her master’s in criminology and justice and currently works as a graduate assistant for St. John's.

Samantha Fusaro is graduating from the St. John’s MA criminology and justice program in the spring. During her studies, she has focused her research on violence against women in different forms. Upon graduation, she will be working as a domestic violence/ crime victim advocate.

Haau-Yi Li, Completed his master’s in criminology and justice, in 2023. Bachelor’s in criminal justice, 2021. He tries to view issues from multiple angles to fully understand the different perspectives that make up the issues that society struggles with. He aspires to work in the public sector where his skills can be used to help the less fortunate.

Irene Barlis is a third-year Sociology student and is minoring in French and Psychology. She has always been passionate about helping others and is interested in getting a master’s in social work after graduation. She hopes her background in Sociology and her dedication to social justice aids her on her path forward.

Seonwoo (Sunny) Bak is a PhD student in Multisector Communication, focusing on sustainable development, intersectionality, and communication. Her research interests are centered on understanding the developmental paradigm in digitalization. She hopes to continue her research in academia.

Sydney Moore is currently a graduate student pursuing a Master's in Sociology at St. John's University. She is passionate about ending mass incarceration and its disproportionate effects on people of color. She hopes to play a role in normalizing and providing alternatives to incarceration, such as restorative and transformative justice.

Elvita Bouzy from Brooklyn, NY. A mother of one son, who has a BA in sociology, and is in her 3rd semester of MA in sociology. She works in the social service field for the city of NY.

Karla Lopez, a graduate student in the master’s Program for Criminology and Justice, aspires to work with juveniles in the justice system and strives to be an advocate for all minorities including but not limited to women, immigrants, Latinx, etc.

Irene Makrinos is in her last year as a B.A./M.A. student in Psychology. She currently works as a behaviour technician and hopes to receive her Psy. D in School and Clinical Psychology so she can continue to help children.

Satara Brown is a student in the Criminology and Justice Master’s Program at St. John’s University. She is passionate and dedicated to supporting racial equity and social justice.

Kevin Gallagher is currently in his last semester at St. John's University, studying Government & Politics. He will graduate in May 2024.

Mohammed Shaikh is a third-year Economics major at St. John’s University. He seeks to apply his skills and pursue a career in the finance sector. He is passionate about global financial markets, consulting, investment banking, and trade.

Olivia Bell is an aspiring adolescent psychologist, who is currently a freshman Psychology major with a Sociology minor. She is passionate about social justice, helping others, and advocacy

Kiranjyot Kaur Is a junior majoring in biology. She has a passion for medicine and hopes to have a career as a Physician Assistant.

MarcAnthony Ramos, a senior at St. John's University studying Environmental Science, is an aspiring meteorologist who is passionate about helping others and learning more about social justice and how everyone can hopefully be on the same playing field.

Milo Aviles is a third-year Anthropology student with a minor in Art. After graduation, he plans to pursue a career in archaeology and assist in repatriation efforts. Milo is also passionate about disability activism, LGBTQ+ rights, and social justice.

William Park is a recent graduate of the Clinical Mental Health Counselling Master's program. He is passionate about therapy and is an advocate for the improvement and importance of mental health in everyone he looks forward to crossing paths with. He hopes to one day own his practice, where he can provide therapy to those struggling with OCD, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions.
