About the Contributors

Jaelyn Hill-Rucker Is a fourth-year Sociology major currently completing her final semester. She plans on attending law school to pursue a career in transforming child and family advocacy and social inequity within her community. 

__ 

Dayna Stropkay Is graduating in May with her Master's in Liberal Arts. Her concentration has been in Sociology.  She always wanted to be a teacher although it may be difficult to realize this goal because of her disability she is hoping for something where she can have a positive impact on other children. Dayna was told to be a Public Sociologist perhaps and will always be one in pursuit of finding a deeper meaning in life.

Ryan Maharaj Is a senior graduating in Fall 2023, he is a history major and legal studies minor. He is interested in pursuing the field of law, going to law school, and becoming an attorney most likely in the area of corporate law.

Satara Brown is a student in the Criminology and Justice Master’s Program at St. John’s University. She is passionate and dedicated to supporting racial equity and social justice.

__
Aura Sanchez is in her last semester as a graduate student. She works in the non-profit sector with the American Red Cross and is happy with the work she does helping humanitarian efforts. She is interested in learning more about career options for Soc grad students and feels that we don't get enough exposure to

that.

Callie Costanza is a senior graduating this May with a Bachelor's in Government and Politics. This upcoming fall she will be attending law school to pursue a career in elder law.

__

Nicholas LaChance graduated this past semester as a graduate student and was a graduate assistant for my last semester at St. Johns. His long-term goal within the field of sociology is to teach and be able to help the youth of underprivileged communities reach their goals. He is hoping that with his master's degree, he's able to open up more opportunities for himself in this field going forward.

__

 Carine Dorlus is in her last semester at St.John's University as a master's student. She majors in Global Development and Social Justice.  Her passion is to one day work at the United Nations. At the moment she has a nonprofit called Philadelphia For Haiti Inc and her interest is to work on sustainable development.

__

Uzma Malik is a student graduating with a master's degree this semester. Uzma is currently majoring in Global Development and Social Justice and is passionate about creating and implementing development programs that would educate, encourage and empower people while also enabling them to enhance their abilities, secure their fundamental rights and improve their social status. 

__

Stephanie Golphin is currently in her last year of the Global Development and Social Justice Master's program here at St. John's University. After she graduates in May, she plans on attending law school for international law focusing on immigration and human rights, which has always been her passion.

__

Jillian Spreckels recently graduated from the Criminology and Justice program in December 2022 and graduated from St. John’s University with her bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security in May 2021. She currently works at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office as a Telecommunications Analyst. 

__

Shabina Asghar is currently in her last semester as a Master's student in the Sociology program at St. John's University. She graduates in May and is majoring in Sociology. She is pursuing her education further as a Ph.D. student at the University of Maryland in the Fall of 2023.

__

Rohanna Foster Is a second-year biology major and career-wise is interested in becoming an orthopedic surgeon or doctor. 

__

Matthew Wilson, Who has completed his Master's in Sociology, is now an Urban Sociology enthusiast who focuses on the cross-sections of education and poor neighborhoods across NYC.

__ 

Sanjana Liliah is currently a sophomore majoring in Sociology and is passionate about gender and sexuality studies. She would love to pursue sociology on a graduate level, eventually achieving her Ph.D., and becoming a professor who can support students and inspire them to take on a new worldview!

__

William Naughton is a part of the 5 years BA/MA program. Both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees are in Sociology. He hopes to continue on to join the Peace Corps. Further down the line, he wants to get his Ph.D. in Sociology and do research. He hopes to research social class and the role of capital in our society.

__

Anna Wedding will wrap up her experience at St John's this May with a MA in Global Development and Social Justice. She is passionate about dignity and respect being offered to even the smallest of us, young children. 

__

Olivia Bell is an aspiring adolescent psychologist, who is currently a freshman Psychology major with a Sociology minor. She is passionate about social justice, helping others, and advocacy

__

Kiranjyot Kaur Is a junior majoring in biology. She has a passion for medicine and hopes to have a career as Physician Assistant.

__

Ian McCalla, who recently completed his Master’s Degree in Sociology at St. John’s University, is passionate about social justice, urban sociology, and mass media’s influences on human behavior.

__

Devin Donnelly, an aspiring forensic psychologist is currently pursuing her graduate degree in criminology & justice. 

__

Karla Lopez, a graduate student in the Master's Program for Criminology and Justice, aspires to work with juveniles in the justice system and strives to be an advocate for all minorities including but not limited to women, immigrants, Latinx, etc. 

__

Michael Boyce recently graduated from St. John's University in May of 2022 with a Master of Arts Degree in Criminology and Justice.

__

Crismelly Caso is a graduate student in the Master’s Program for Global Development and Social Justice, who is passionate about human rights and equality.

__

MarcAnthony Ramos, a senior at St. John's University studying Environmental Science, is an aspiring meteorologist that is passionate about helping others and learning more about social justice and how everyone can hopefully be on the same playing field.

__

Natalie De La Cruz is a current Illustration Major with an interest in the world around them.

Mohammed Shaikh is a current Government & Politics major who seeks to apply his skills in the International Business sector and is passionate about current world events, diplomacy, global commerce & trade.

Joshua Sukhedo is currently a Sociology major and an Africana Studies minor at St. John's College
